Do Now:

• Take out your Act 1, scene 2 & 3 homework

• Open up texts to Act 1, scene 2

• Take out post it notes

• Prepare to discuss the following concept:  How does Shakespeare characterize Prince Hamlet?  Remember, a writer provides characterization in how a person moves, body language, clothing, what he/she says and how it is said.

SWBAT:

• Discuss changes to the English language as a result of Shakespeare.
• Reflect on their original understanding of Shakespeare.
• Distinguish between Elizabethan entertainment and modern entertainment.
• Predict reasons for the timelessness of Hamlet.
